Eraserheads Reunion Concert

July 16, 2008 at 10:00 Posted by johnxarce in Music

Eheads Reunion Concert

Years after their bitter fallout, Ely Buendia, Marcus Adoro, Buddy Zabala and Raimund Marasigan —collectively known as the Eraserheads —will share one stage again for a one night reunion concert slated on August 30, 2008 at CPP Open Grounds.

The band, composed of Ely Buendia, Buddy Zabala, Marcus Adoro, and Raimund Marasigan , were highly responsible for the resurgence of Pinoy rock music in the ’90s. Armed with catchy hooks, street-smart lyrics, and uncanny pop sensibilities, the Eraserheads rose to critical and commercial prominence and was dubbed as the country’s own version of The Beatles—a tag the quartet simultaneously scoffed at and cherished during their phenomenal reign.

Strained relationship among the band members unfortunately led the group to disband following frontman Ely Buendia’s departure in 2002. Ely’s resignation was relayed through his bandmates only through a text message citing the words, "It’s graduation time."

9 Reasons To Do Joint Venture Deals On eBay

July 5, 2008 at 08:04 Posted by johnxarce in Make Money Online

eBay is THE most popular home business in the USA, but it’s not without its problems. Many have tried to succeed but have failed due to confusion over what products to sell, giant numbers of competitors, copy and picture theft from other sellers and eBay and Paypal that eat into profits.

One way to avoid this swamp, though, is to do a Joint Venture with established eBay sellers. This allows a JV partner to build her own mailing list and sell products off eBay.

There are multiple advantages to this way of doing business on eBay:

1. The biggest uncertainty for would-be eBay sellers is what products to sell. Sometimes vendors risk large sums of money on untried products, only to lose their investment, become sour and give up. With a Joint Venture there is no risk except for a few hours of time.

Adlink Success - A New Advertising Style From Google Adsense

July 4, 2008 at 08:07 Posted by johnxarce in Internet, Make Money Online

There is a new advertising style from Google Adsense that is available in your Adsense panel, it is called “Google Ad Links.”

This new ad system presents a list of 4 or 5 vertical links(you can pick either 4 or 5 and Google will supply the actually links) to your site visitors, when the visitors click on one of the targeted contextual words it displays a results page from Google listing ten Adwords advertiser’s ads for this related topic.

Here is what Google says Adlinks are: “What are Ad Links by Google?

Ad Links are a new form of text advertising that we’re offering to our AdSense publishers. Using the same contextual targeting algorithm that targets Google ads to your content pages, Ad Links units display a list of topics that are relevant to your page. Each topic, when clicked, brings the user to a page of related advertisements.

The result is advertisements that are closely targeted to the interests of your users. By selecting the topics through interaction with the ad unit, users are presented with useful information in the form of related advertisements. Their direct involvement with the evolution of the ad unit guarantees an interest in the ads that are presented.”

Positive Aspects of Adlinks:

They allow you to blend this in with sections of your links which will get more visitors to click on them, inevitably increase your Adsense revenue.

The Adlinks ads display 10 ad results when clicked without cluttering you page.

7 Tips for Selling Expensive Collectibles On eBay

July 4, 2008 at 07:51 Posted by johnxarce in Internet, Make Money Online

Recently, a friend asked me to help her brother sell his collection on Lladro glass figurines on eBay. These are expensive glass collectibles and I knew nothing about them - but I don’t have to. The principles for selling expensive collectibles on eBay are the same, regardless of what is being sold.

Obviously, like any eBay auction, the seller must have a powerful listing with great pictures. This is always true regardless of what the merchandise is. Expensive collectibles offer splendid opportunities, but also need special precautions.

1. Price: decide the lowest amount you will accept for each figurine and set that price as a reserve. Then make your opening bid absurdly low - yes, absurdly.

Audio On The Web - How To Do It With Ease

July 3, 2008 at 08:39 Posted by johnxarce in Graphics & Multimedia, Internet, Tips and Tutorials

It always amazes me at how many bands and musicians don’t have audio on their web sites. Doing so increases sales of your album and makes it easier to get people to come out to gigs, so why wouldn’t you? There are usually two reasons:

1. People are scared to giveaway their music because "people don’t buy what they get for free."

This isn’t true and the best example I can think of to illustrate the point is bottled water. People can get water for free, of basically free, but they pay a premium to have it in a nice container.

Why wouldn’t they do the same with your music?

7 Simple Steps To Profit Without Your Own Product

July 3, 2008 at 08:02 Posted by johnxarce in Internet, Make Money Online

Most people do not succeed on the internet because they are selling products no one desperately wants.

If you want to be truly successful sell only things that people really really really want to buy!

Sounds simple? It is.

You only need to find out what people desperately want and then give it to them.

Unfortunately most people online (and offline) are ignoring this basic fundamental law to sales success.

So without further ado, just follow this 7 step system to profits even if haven’t made a dime online yet….

1. Go to Ebay’s ‘Hot Item Forum’ and find out what products and services are selling well.

Add Streaming Audio To Your Website

July 2, 2008 at 08:36 Posted by johnxarce in Graphics & Multimedia, Internet, Tips and Tutorials

Adding streaming audio to your web site can help you enhance the message you send to your customers and can serve as a wonderful confidence-building tool. In the past, audio was used primarily as a decorative effect, but advances in technology and the increased use of the internet by consumers have made it easy for you to add streaming audio to your web site and create a personal bond with your clientele. You can also add streaming audio to your newsletter or blog for a personal touch that will keep the interest of your readers and subscribers.

Streaming audio can be used in welcome messages placed on the first page of your web site. Adding a personal welcome message to your readers and explaining some of the features they can explore on your web site is an excellent way to enhance the experience of the customer. You may also want to add streaming audio to your web site in the form of testimonials from satisfied customers. Most computer users have the capability to hear audio messages and will find it a refreshing change from monotonous text that may or may not hold their interest. Your newsletter or blog will benefit from the use of streaming audio as well. You may want to add a new helpful tip in audio form each day to your blog, or include audio product updates in your newsletter.

Alternatives to Digital Audio

July 2, 2008 at 08:24 Posted by johnxarce in Graphics & Multimedia, Tips and Tutorials

Although MP3 is the most popular format for encoding music , it is by no means the only one. There are two basic methods for compressing audio – lossless and lossy, and for each of these methods there are many formats.

Lossless compression
means that none of the audio data is removed during compression. Lossy compression means that audio data is permanently removed from the audio file. Lossy compression results in smaller files, but there is no way to rebuild the audio data to its original format. MP3 is an example of lossy compression.

Lossy Compression Formats

There are many alternatives to MP3 when it comes to encoding audio files. Microsoft reportedly developed the WMA format to avoid the licensing costs associated with MP3. WMA files can be played with the Windows Media Player that is included with the Windows operating system as well as many other audio players. It features similar encoding rates to MP3 and similar file sizes.
